Scripture speaks of “the multitude of His loving kindnesses!” (Isaiah 63:7) And who is capable of numbering them?
Said the Psalmist, “How excellent is your loving-kindness, O God!” (Psalm 36:7) No pen of man, no tongue of angel, can adequately express it.
We read of God’s “marvelous loving-kindness!” (Psalm 17:7) And surely it truly is!
David prayed, “Display the wonders of Your loving-kindness!” Wondrous it truly is—that God so infinitely above us, so inconceivably glorious, so ineffably holy, should not only deign to notice us—but set His heart upon us, give His Son for us, and send His Spirit to indwell us.
Well then, may we exclaim, “Your loving-kindness is better than life!” (Psalm 63:3)

A Roman emperor, after a successful military campaign, was returning in triumph to Rome. Great throngs filled the city to welcome the mighty hero. While passing through one of the crowded thoroughfares, a little girl, wild with joy, dashed toward his chariot.
The officer stopped her and said: “That is the chariot of the emperor, and you must not attempt to reach him.”
The little one replied: “He may be your emperor–but he is my father!” In a moment she was not only in the chariot, but also in the arms of her father.
It is even so with true believers. While God is the Emperor of all men–He is that, and infinitely more, to us–He is our Father!
“This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in Heaven . . .” Matthew 6:9
